I've been thinking about how different people imagine hell. Some picture fire and punishment. But maybe hell is something else.
Maybe hell is spending eternity with the souls who suffered in this life because of your actions.
Every child who went hungry because of your greed.
Every family broken because of your cruelty.
Every vulnerable person harmed because of your indifference.
In a civilized world, we talk about justice, fairness, and responsibility. But what happens when people choose to ignore that? What happens when selfishness is called freedom, when cruelty is called strength, and when leaders convince people that compassion is weakness?
The truth is, our actions echo. They leave marks on others, and on ourselves. And if we ever had to face the full weight of those marks - face to face with the people we hurt - that might be the harshest judgment of all.
Maybe hell isn't fire. Maybe hell is being forced to see the world exactly as it was for those who suffered because we chose not to care.
