Civilization always looks solid in the moment.
But history tells a different story.
Progress is not permanent. Again and again, societies have slid backward -- sometimes shockingly fast.
Why?
Maybe because there is something in us that resists being civilized.
Fear, selfishness, and tribal loyalty offer the illusion of safety while destroying the very systems that protect us.
That is why history keeps repeating.
The pull toward barbarism is always there.
The only question is whether enough of us will resist it this time.
Civilization is not natural. It is a choice.
And there is something in us that keeps pulling the other way.
Call it fear. Call it tribalism. Call it evil.
But if we do not resist it, civilization does not last.
